I've finished another sky to go with the other one (now 'relaunched' as Silverstone thanks to Klas' great suggestion), this time for Snetterton. I'll try and get another one done in the next few days which might be more suitable for Mosport or some where like that - i.e. lots of hills in the horizon.

sorry roland,

nach snetterton kräht kein hahn mehr! simon (ich hab die überschrift einfach übernommen faul wie ich bin!) meinte bestimmt auch snett 67, is ja auch auf dem foto abgebildet!

auf der seite sieht man auch das die texturen fuer andere strecken gut sind, wie zb goodwood! leider hab ich beim snett sky 1 fps weniger (sprich 35) und nehme deshalb weiter die originalen files!

btw, arvid, stefan oder sonst einer von den patchomanen: könntet ihr mal ein pic von eurer mosport version mit viel himmel posten! der sieht bei mir aus wie bielefeld im herbst und das muss ja nicht sein!

Der is glaube ich von Team Friendship der Sky, sieht zwar nicht so toll aus aber der andere von Todays Legends is mir zu dunkel.

Another one done. The terrain in this one is the same as the Silverstone sky only alot darker - whether it matches with any Glen track gfx updates people might have installed I don't know, because I'm just using the original graphics at the moment

I've only got a few tracks installed at the moment, so if this sky works well with any other tracks please say so!

verstrahlo steffo war gestern abend wieder entbreit! :D

mosport oder glen, für mich alles dasselbe! nein, dass ist mir heute erst aufgefallen das das ja ein glen sky ist! gut das ich das gestern nicht alles noch durcheinander installiert habe im delirium! :rolleyes:

für mosport hab ich glaub ich 3 versionen oder sogar 4. eine sunny, eine nass, eine nass mit nasser strecke und ähh, ich glaube es waren nur 3 :P vielleicht passt ja der glen sky in mosport wenn ich die horizon files weglasse!

Mosport Versionen

ich hab mal alle updates für mosport installiert, hier die unterschiedlichen versionen:

1)mosport mit EB_MosportV3 von eric bourgouin. der sky schaut so wie auf arvids pic aus, die texturen sind eher blass. erhältlich bei racesim.net.

2)mit gpl today v1.1 schaut super aus, allerdings is der himmel ein bisschen duster. aber eigentlich die rundeste version von allen. erhältich bei gpl today ;)

3)mit gpl today v1.1 und darkgreen's 16 bit texturen (noch a bissel besser aber fps lastig)

4)mit wetsport83 von larrie currie.das ist die "echte" regenstrecke wo sich das fahrverhalten verändert und es spray gibt! keine ahnung wo es das noch gibt!

5)wetmosport 83 mit wetmosport von Kevin L. gibs nicht mehr zum download soweit ich weiss. mosport kommt mit dem update fast apokalyptisch rüber! was fürcalifornier oder suizidgefährdete!

6)wetmosport 83 mit wetsportV1 autor unbekannt. in der readme steht nichts dazu! wahrscheinlich eric bourgouin von racesim.net. szenario: es hat gerade geregnet und jetzt klärt sich der himmel auf!

@crippen, den mosport sky von simon hab ich nicht für mosport genommen, eric b. (local res.) sagte die horzions würden nicht stimmen, da passt das gpl today besser! aber ich bin mir sicher, dass simon noch ein paket für mosport macht!

Hallo!

Ich hab da mal ne Frage :

Kann man die Skys beliebig von Strecke zu Strecke austauschen (jetzt unabhängig davon, ob´s optisch gut ausschaut oder nicht) oder funzen die Skys immer
nur mit bestimmten Strecken?

hi thilo,

die skys funktionieren immer wenn du den 3do file der dabei ist mitinstallierst! allerdings musst du dann auch die horizons mitinstallieren und die passen nicht unbedingt zu den anderen strecken! es kann dann sein das grasflächen direkt entlang der strecke eine ganz andere farbe haben als der horizon usw! muss jeder fuer sich selber rausfinden obs gut ausschaut! ist ja ganz einfach zu desinstallieren!

da gibs noch einen sky von simon für den nürburgring! ganz oben auf stobbarts sky seite! der download auf simons seite funzt imoment nicht. arvid hat einen download bereitgestellt. link im al heely ring sky thread!

die nürburg texturen wurden upgedatet!

Anyway, sorry for the delay but I wanted to mess around with the mips a bit more after I first uploaded them so I took the zip back down. I tried to upload the new ones last night but my ISP had gone AWOL. It wasn't time completely wasted though - I've updated the Castle as well, although it appears too large now and if it's siting on top of a forest, if your using Darkgreen excellent 16-bit textures.

The terain textures aren't perfect - they're more hills than mountains and they 'repeat' more than once around the perimeter of the track but I think they provide a good contrast to Al Heeley's rarified mountain landscape. Hopefully these files will just be a 'beta' sky for the Ring because I'm going to try and use that superb panoramic photo, linked to in the GPLEA forum, as a basis for a more authentic horizon. Whether it'll work out though I don't know.

Simon's Nurburgring hills now fertilized !

Hi, all. Simon Stobbart's Nürburgring sky/horizon mip update is very well done, especially the new castle!

One thing I kept noticing, though, was that the color of the hills right on the horizon had somewhat of a purple/gray shade, that kept distracting me as I drove around the Ring (I know...keep your eyes on the road!). So, I changed the color slightly on those farthest hills, adding a little green back into them, plus I smoothed out a couple of the more jagged spots on the horizon line.

This comparison image shows Simon's original hills, then after I applied a little nitrogen fertilizer to them.
